A Life with Alzheimer's
Hello Everyone, I give credit to those of who takes care of those with alzheimers. It can be exhausting at times a well as you would like to pull your hairs too but In other words, you can also learn from them as well. I take care of many patients that are battling this disease that are young and old mostly the elderly though. Yea it gets rough sometimes especially if they are having a bad day then they are moody but most of the time i enjoy being around and learning their life stories. Those who have alzheimers likes to talk about anything and everything. even though they repeat themselves it is always interesting about what they have to say.Well i am gonna go now talk to you soon. This is my unit 8 post. Sincerely melissa orris

Melissa,
ReplyDeleteI understand what you are trying to say. My dad was starting to show signs of the disease when he passed. It was very trying emotionally and physically. Now I care for my mother who is in stage 3 of lung cancer and many days lately I dont know if it is the meds, the cancer or if she has beginning stage alzheimer's. Somedays, I want to punch a wall (in private), cry, pull my hair out or just hide in the corner. I just go take a "time out" for a few minutes and remind myself how lucky I am to be able to care for her instead of having to have someone else do it. Just still having her around is what makes me strong. Hang in there!
